Daredevil Pedals

Daredevil Pedals are hand-built in Chicago by touring guitarist and designer Johnny Wator. Born from a need for tougher, more exciting gain sounds on stage, the brand leans hard into vintage 60s and 70s circuits, muscle cars and straight-ahead rock ’n’ roll – fuzzes, boosts, distortions and filters that feel loud even before you turn them on.

At Guitar FX Direct we stock key Daredevil designs including the Silver Solo silicon range boost, Atomic Cocked fixed wah, Drive-Bi dual gain distortion and the Hype FET boost – all from an authorised UK dealer with free UK delivery and a 30-day no-quibble returns policy.

Why we like Daredevil Pedals

Daredevil Pedals are all about hand-built, Chicago rock ’n’ roll. Johnny Wator started the company to get the tones he couldn’t find anywhere else – raw, amp-like gain, wild fuzz, cocked wah sounds and loud, musical boosts. The circuits are inspired by vintage 60s/70s pedals but tweaked for modern rigs, with most designs being original rather than straight clones.

Atomic Cock – Fixed Wah in a Box

Atomic Cocked is Daredevil’s signature “variable fixed wah” pedal. Instead of rocking a treadle to find the sweet spot, you dial it in once and stomp. A single sweep control sets the wah frequency, while a Blend control lets you mix how much wah signal hits the output and a Gain control adds warm, loud overdrive. It’s perfect for Mick Ronson / Schenker / Slash-style cocked wah lead tones, or as a permanent mid boost to help riffs cut through without the noise and faff of a traditional wah.

Silver Solo – Silicon Range / Treble Boost

Silver Solo is a silicon “range” / treble booster based on the classic Rangemaster idea, but with tighter lows, sharper bite and more output. It’s designed to accentuate dynamics and texture while pushing your amp into earlier breakup. The Range control moves from bright treble boost when fully clockwise through to a fuller, almost full-range boost as you roll it back. Think first Sabbath record, Clapton’s Bluesbreakers, T.Rex and Queen – it’s made to hit the front of a cranked amp and keep your notes singing.

Drive-Bi – Dual Gain Distortion

Drive-Bi is a dual-channel op-amp gain circuit that covers medium to high gain “amp style” drive. The Low mode adds grit, sustain and punch for rhythm work, while the Hi mode expands low end, saturation and compression for bigger lead sounds. With just Volume, Gain and a Hi/Low switch, it’s simple to use but surprisingly flexible – you can treat it like a two-channel amp on your board, from classic rock crunch up to thick, modern distortion, while still keeping your guitar’s character intact.

Hype – FET Boost

Hype is a FET-based boost that’s proudly not a “clean, transparent” pedal. The heart of the circuit is a high-output FET boost capable of aggressive levels of gain and volume. It’s big and nasty in the best way – ideal for kicking an amp or another drive pedal into a much more intense zone. Excess knobs and options have been stripped away so it’s easy to dial in; set it where you like it and use it as your go-to solo lift or always-on grit generator.

Between them, these Daredevil pedals cover a lot of bread-and-butter rock territory: cocked wah lead tones, classic British treble boost flavours, natural amp-like drive and a filthy FET boost to push everything harder.

If you love hand-built gear, vintage-inspired circuits and unapologetically loud rock sounds, Daredevil Pedals will feel right at home on your board. If you’re unsure whether Atomic Cock, Silver Solo, Drive-Bi or Hype is the best match for your rig, drop us a message and we’ll happily talk you through the options.
