Why we like Suhr
Suhr have built their reputation on boutique-quality guitars and amps, and their pedals feel like compact extensions of those designs. The drive circuits are amp-like, touch-sensitive and voiced to sit easily in a mix, giving you polished, professional tones without a lot of tweaking. At Guitar FX Direct we like Suhr pedals because they slot naturally into serious rigs, from studio boards to fly dates and church setups.
Eclipse – dual overdrive and distortion
The Suhr Eclipse Dual Overdrive and Distortion is a dual-channel gain pedal with independent gain, level and three-band EQ on each side. It covers everything from low-gain crunch to tight, saturated distortion, and you can voice each channel differently for rhythm and lead work. If you want a compact “two-channel amp in a box” style drive, the Eclipse is a strong contender.
Shiba Drive Reloaded – smooth, amp-like overdrive
The Suhr Shiba Drive Reloaded – Smooth Overdrive is designed to give an overdrive that sounds and feels like a real amp, whether you want warm, violin-like leads or open, full-bodied rhythm tones. It is particularly good at adding sustain and mid push without getting harsh, making it ideal as an always-on drive or a stacked gain stage in front of the Eclipse or another pedal.
Riot Galactic – high-gain distortion with amp feel
The Suhr Riot Galactic Distortion Pedal – Limited Edition delivers high-gain tones with the touch response and harmonic richness of a cranked 100-watt tube amp. It can move from hot-rodded rock rhythms to singing lead sounds and is equally at home in front of a clean platform or pushing an already driven amp. The Galactic finish adds some visual flair to a proven circuit.
If you are not sure whether the Eclipse, Shiba Drive Reloaded or Riot will suit your guitar and amp best, please contact us. We are happy to help you choose the Suhr pedal or combination that fits your setup and playing style.
