DWARFCRAFT DEVICES, CATALINBREAD, AND JHS PEDALS NEW ADDITIONS

Here at Guitar FX Direct we are always striving to stock the newest and most exciting effect pedals on the market, therefore our range is always expanding and evolving with the times. The last few weeks have been no exception with the arrival of new additions from Dwarfcraft Devices, JHS Pedals, and Catalinbread, not to mention also the arrival of the new Death By Audio Waveformer Destroyer Distortion pedal as discussed in our last blog piece.

From Dwarfcraft Devices we have added the ARF. ARF stands for Attack, Release, Filter.  As come to be expected from Dwarfcraft, this pedal comes filled with full on synthy weirdness. The ARF is  a momentary envelope filter, with adjustable attack and release. While capable of some familiar wah sounds, it is a new type of stomp-filter that really lends itself to experimental applications.

Following a great advertisment drive, particularly on social media, JHS Pedals proved to the world that Unicorns are most definitely real with the release of their Unicorn Uni Vibe Pedal with Tap Tempo. What sets the Unicorn apart from all other Uni-Vibe circuits up till now is that they have for the first time ever added tap tempo control of the LFO rate as well as ratio, external tap control, and external expression of the speed. The result is this classic circuit being brought into the modern age without compromising the integrity of the all analog signal path, photo cell topology, and true classic invention that the 1960s gave us.

Catalinbread have come out with a bunch of new offerings. The Fuzzrite, a faithful reproduction of the classic circuit of the 60s. It’s raw and unapologetic. The Valcoder Tremolo, designed to recreate the tube tremolo as well as the amplifier breakup of the vintage amplifiers made by the Valco company of Chicago. The Antichthon Other Worldly Fuzz/Tremolo Pedal. With the Antichthon, Catalinbread are looking to create something different, unique, an effect that works like no other. Designed to be controlled from your guitar’s volume knob, Antichthon has a multitude of sounds and possibilities. The Zero Point Tape Flanger Pedal, the most direct analogy to studio tape flanging that anybody has come up with. A real time effect, not a typical modulation effect. Lastly, the Talisman Plate Reverb Pedal, based around the sounds of a real EMT140 plate unit (owned by Portland’s own Jackpot! Studios), the Talisman contains not only the core of the plate reverb, but a couple commonly sidechained effects as well; the High Pass control rolls off the low frequencies and the Pre Delay control governs the amount of time between picking and reverb.
