The Space Force packs eight distinct digital reverb engines into one stereo pedal.
It goes from a classic studio plate to a bit-crushed lo-fi shoegaze wash. Each of the eight reverb modes has its own dedicated set of tweakable parameters.
Part of Alexander Pedals’ Leap series, it’s built to be the one reverb that covers your whole board rather than a single flavour you reach for occasionally. It really does cover some ground!
Key Features
- Eight reverb engines: Plate, Mod Hall, Pitch, Spring, Lo-Fi, Analog, Dynamic, Echoverb
- 32 onboard presets, arranged in four banks of eight, fully accessible from the pedal itself
- True stereo I/O — mono or TRS stereo in, mono, two-cable stereo, or TRS stereo out
- Hold/Freeze function to sustain a reverb tail indefinitely while you play over it
- Configurable bypass trails — hard bypass, full trails, or auto trails
- Ramp footswitch, expression pedal, footswitch, or MIDI can all morph between knob settings on the fly
- USB port for MIDI control and firmware updates
- Buffered bypass
Eight Engines, One Board Slot
The Space Force isn’t just a single reverb algorithm with a few tone-shaping knobs
It gives you eight genuinely different engines to choose from.
- Plate simulates a classic studio metal plate, with a virtual tape pre-delay and adjustable tape-style flanging modulation built in.
- Mod Hall is a 1980s electronic hall reverb with adjustable pitch modulation and dedicated high/low EQ.
- Pitch is a chamber-style reverb with twin adjustable pitch shifters, each selectable from a subtle detune up to a full octave.
- Spring delivers a classic surf-style spring reverb, with tube-bias tremolo placed after the reverb so it stays lively no matter how wet you run it.
- Lo-Fi is a 1990s-style electronic reverb with distortion baked into the trails, the kind of degraded, shoegaze-adjacent texture that pairs particularly well with its SAW modulation setting. Analog emulates an obsolete analog delay chip once common in karaoke machines, with a distinctive, slightly gritty character — keep the time low for a reverb-like wash or push it up for cascading delay repeats.
- Dynamic is a large cathedral-style reverb with volume-sensitive behaviour.
- Gate mode cuts the tail abruptly like an ’80s drum sound, Bloom fades in just the wet signal, and Swell brings in both wet and dry together for a more dramatic entrance.
- Echoverb runs room reverb and delay in parallel as two independent effects, and the delay keeps running even while the reverb is held in Freeze mode.
The Hold Freeze Function
The Hold/Freeze function captures whatever reverb tail is happening at the moment you press it and sustains it indefinitely, creating a steady ambient bed you can solo or improvise over — press it again to restart the effect and layer further textures on top. Combined with 32 onboard presets, true stereo I/O, and full MIDI/USB control, this is built to function as a serious, board-anchoring reverb rather than a single-trick pedal.
Controls
The controls knobs on the Space Force have many different functions, that are prompted from the display. For this reason a succinct description of what the knobs do exactly is impossible here!
- Top left – Scroll parameters
- Top left – Change parameters
- Bottom right (Page knob) – select page. Also has push function for more parameters
Power
Requires a 9V DC supply only, that can supply 250mA.
Who Is This For
Built for players who want one reverb pedal to replace several ! From a clean studio plate to full ambient wash territory, all switchable via presets rather than fiddling with knobs mid-set. The true stereo I/O and MIDI integration also make it a strong fit for a more studio-oriented or MIDI-controlled rig, not just a straightforward pedalboard reverb.
