CIOKS 8

Since 1991, the Danish company CIOKS has been providing guitar and bass players with reliable power supplies dedicated for effect pedals. The CIOKS 8 power supply is part of the Future Power Generation range of professional power supplies.

CIOKS 8 has 8 isolated outlets for powering pedals and offers 4 different output voltages on each outlet. The CIOKS 8 power supply is recommended to use to extensively expand your existing DC7 power supply with additional 8 isolated outlets.

The CIOKS 8 Expander is the largest power supply extender in the Future Power Generation series.

Just to be clear, the CIOKS 8 power supply can extend the DC7, or operate from another suitable 24V regulated power source. It is only stand-alone if you have a 24v source.

The release of the celebrated CIOKS DC7, definitely caused a stir in the PSU market.

Because of its ground-breaking low profile, low weight, and high output connectivity, DC7 quite rightly found its way onto thousands of pedalboards the world over.

Now with the CIOKS 8 Expander, the range has increased, providing pedal devotees even more low-noise power options for their sonic treasures.

CIOKS 8 is our largest switch-mode power supply extender.

Not only is CIOKS 8 the perfect companion to the CIOKS DC7 (via the DC7’s 24 V outlet), but it also offers clean power from other PSUs that have a 24 V DC outlet.

With its eight additional outlets, individually selectable between 9, 12, 15, and 18V DC, each outlet delivers up to a staggering 660 mA!

To use CIOKS 8 as an extension to DC7, simply use the DC Link cable and connect the CIOKS 8 to the courtesy 24V outlet on your DC7 and you are good to go.

In case you want to use CIOKS 8 as a stand-alone power supply, it powers up with any 24V DC adapter with the appropriate DC plug.

To get the full 6W output power on all 8 isolated outlets, the adapter you are using to power CIOKS 8 should have an output power of 60W.

Advanced Monitoring

Advanced LED Monitoring feature Each isolated outlet has its individual LED status indicator. The indicator is lit in normal operation. The LED light gets dim when you operate just on the edge of the power limit, regardless of which voltage you have selected on the outlet. If you overload or short circuit an outlet, the respective LED indicator turns off.

The light intensity of the status LED will be higher when the output voltage is set to a higher value than 9V being 12, 15 or 18V. Global status indicator If the CIOKS 8 power supply is powered from a power source with an output power capability exceeding 56W the red LED inside the O letter in CIOKS logo will be lit regardless of pedal load.

If the power source supplying CIOKS 8 has a power capability of less the 56W the input voltage will when reaching the adapter’s maximum power capability start to sag hence turning the CIOKS 8 global status indicator off

Multiple CIOKS 8

If you wish to use two CIOKS 8 power supplies in one rig one of the input/link sockets should be used to supply power to CIOKS 8 and then the second input/link socket should be used to power the second CIOKS 8 power supply. In this way you’ll be adding 8 additional isolated outlets to your power system. The same can be done with CIOKS 4 where 4 isolated outlets will be added.
