Darkglass Alpha Omicron

The Darkglass Alpha Omicron is quickly becoming the new standard for bass players. This is because it delivers great versatility and a harmonically rich sound.

Bassists needing a preamplifier to make a distinctive sound can now have that using the double distortion (Alpha and Omega) engine.

Because of  Alpha Omega’s popularity and momentum, we decided it was time for a no-compromise option.

For those in search of the same bone-crushing sound and flexibility but in a smaller, more affordable format, it is our pleasure to introduce to you our new Alpha Omicron.

With the double distortion engine (Alpha and Omega), this latest creation from Darkglass Electronics delivers the same harmonically rich, varied textures that its bigger brother can, but all at a fraction of the size and cost. Pedal’s main controls are:

Controls

  • Blend: Mixes the clean and processed signals. The clean signal remains at unity gain while the volume of the overdriven signal is set by the level knob, allowing for fine mix tuning.
  • Set the overdrive with the level knob – clean signal stays at unity
  • Level: Sets the volume of the overdriven signal.
  • Drive: Sets the amount of gain in the overdriven signal.
  • Mod: Selects or mixes between the two distinct distortion circuits. Alpha is punchy, and tight with a lot of definition, whereas Omega is simply brutal and raw.
  • Bite Switch: Boosts High Mids for additional presence and definition.
  • Growl Switch: Shelving Bass Boost for a fatter tone and increased low-end saturation.

Power

The Alpha Omicron draws 20 mA current. Only use a regulated 9V DC adapter with a centre negative plug.

It does not accept batteries because of ecological reasons. Unregulated power supplies and/or higher voltages may result in suboptimal noise performance and even damage your unit, voiding the warranty.
