The Death By Audio Interstellar Overdriver Deluxe takes the basic Interstellar Overdriver (an analogue overdrive modelled on vintage tube amps) and adds a second drive circuit alongside it.
The two circuits interact in five different ways via a mode selector, giving a wide range of overdrive and fuzz-adjacent tones from a single pedal.
Wild oscillations are possible with certain modes and settings, even when not playing — this is a feature of the design rather than a fault!

It’s a dual overdrive pedal with two drive circuits that can interact in six different modes. The first circuit is the original Interstellar Overdriver, an analogue overdrive modelled on vintage tube amp behaviour. The second adds further gain and interaction options, with 6 modes shaping how the two circuits work together.
Yes — the Interstellar Overdriver Deluxe can produce wild oscillations with certain modes and settings, even when not playing. This is intentional. The extreme interaction between the two circuits at high gain settings is part of what makes the pedal distinctive.
