The EarthQuaker Devices Organizer, as you would expect, mimics the sound of an organ. Rather than a simple octave shifter, the Organizer blends up to five signal layers into something that sounds like an organ, not just a “guitar with an octave pedal”!
The Organizer has octave-up, octave-down, and the dry signal is blended with the octaves to produce convincing organ tones. Sounds somewhere between a classic Hammond and a “Guitorgan” and had that distinctive Leslie-style warble that sets it apart from a conventional octave pedal.
Stop Press: The Organiser is no longer in production. We have just 1 new one left!
More Than an Octave Pedal
What separates the Organizer from a standard octave pedal is the Choir control.
Set your Up and Down octave levels, then bring in Choir and the pedal blends and regenerates those two voices, adding roughly another two octaves up and down along with a slightly delayed direct signal. This is the effect that gives this pedal its distinctive, church-organ-like character.
Choir only does anything if both Up and Down are already in use, so it’s a genuine “third stage” control rather than just another blend knob.
The Tone control rolls off high end as you turn it counter-clockwise, and Lag adds delay to the wet signal, both letting you shape the character further beyond the core octave blend.
Key Features
- Polyphonic organ emulation, tracking chords as well as single notes across guitar and bass
- Six-knob control set covering octave up, octave down, direct signal, tone, and a regenerative Choir voice
- Works well beyond guitar and bass too — vocals, synths, horns, and drums all respond to it
- Mix of analogue and DSP circuitry with an all-analogue dry signal path
- True bypass via relay-based electronic switching
- 9V DC centre negative, no battery option
Controls
- Up: level control for the octave-up voice
- Down: level control for the octave-down voice
- Choir: blends and regenerates the Up and Down voices, adding roughly two further octaves each way plus a slightly delayed direct signal; only active when Up and Down are both in use
- Direct: level control for the analogue dry signal
- Tone: rolls off high end as you turn counter-clockwise
- Lag: delay control for the wet signal; fully counter-clockwise is minimal delay, increasing as you turn clockwise
Power
Runs on a standard 9V DC centre-negative supply, no battery option. EarthQuaker specifically recommends a dedicated or isolated power supply rather than a daisy chain, and warns against running this pedal at higher voltages. A CIOKS SOL is a suitable option.
Who Is This For
Worth a look if you want genuine organ textures rather than a straightforward octave effect — particularly for ambient, psychedelic, or experimental styles, and worth trying beyond guitar too, given how well it tracks vocals, synths, and other instruments.

FAQs
It’s a polyphonic organ emulator, blending octave-up, octave-down, and dry signal to produce warm, analogue organ tones, from a Hammond-adjacent sound through to a full church-organ style wash.
A standard 9V DC centre-negative supply. No battery option. EarthQuaker recommends a dedicated or isolated power supply rather than a daisy chain, and warns against running it at higher voltages.
True bypass, using relay-based electronic switching. Audio will not pass through the pedal without power connected.
It blends the octave-up and octave-down signals and regenerates them, adding roughly two further octaves up and down plus a slightly delayed direct signal, for a church-organ style character. It only has an effect if Up and Down are both in use.
Yes. It’s designed to track chords as well as single notes cleanly across the neck, on both guitar and bass, and works with other instrument types too, including vocals and synths.
