The KMA Machines Cirrus is a combined digital delay and reverb pedal with a feature that makes it genuinely distinctive. It has a dynamic sensitivity control on each mode that makes the effect respond to your picking attack.
Play harder and the dynamic parameter opens up. Play softer and it pulls back. The result is an ambience that moves musically with your performance rather than sitting statically underneath it.
There are three delay modes and three reverb modes. Each mode has this dynamic element.
The delay is up to 1.5 seconds. Both sides have their own mix control, and there is an expression input for foot control over any of the assignable parameters.
It’s KMA’s first fully digital pedal and remains one of their most popular.
The Delay Modes
MOD Delay (Modulated): Classic tape style delay with the dynamic control.
Sample and Hold: With a filter in front of the Delay line, you can get synth like tones that react dynamically to your playing.
Delay Mode (OCT): Adds an octive up to the delay tail.
The Reverb Modes
Modulated: Modulated reverb where playing attack controls the modulation depth of the reverb trails.
Low Pass LP: Dynamicall reacts to your playing, opening up when you play harder
High Pass HP: Well, this is the opposite of LP, where low frequencies cut are cut the harder you play. Great for lo fi effects.
Controls
- ORDER: Selects whether Delay or Reverb is first in the singal chain
- EXP SWITCH: Selects which parameter the expression pedal controls
Delay side
- DELAY: This is a mix control, wher you can mix the dry and effected signal
- TIME: Sets the Delay length
- REPEATS: Sets the number of delay / echo repeats. Can get to endless loops
- loops.
- SENS: Defines the sensitivity for the envelope features on each Mode.
- S/H: Depth and Rate of the Sample/Hold Filter
- MOD: Sets depth of Modulation
- OCT: Fade-in time of the Octave
- MODE-SWITCH: Choose between a Modulated Delay, Sample/Hold Filtered or a fade-in Octave Delay
- TAP-DIVISION SWITCH: Choose between no division (1/1), a dotted eighth mode (1/8D) or a triplet mode (1/3).
Reverb side
- REVERB: Is a mix control for setting dry and wet singal ratio
- DECAY Sets the decay time of the reverb.
- DAMP Sets the high frequency response.
- SENS Defines the sensitivity for the envelope features on each Mode.
- HP: Sets the cut-off frequency of a closing High-Pass Filter. MOD: Sets the modulation depth.
- LP: Sets the cut-off frequency of an opening Low-Pass Filter.
- MODE-SWITCH Choose between a Modulated Reverb , an opening Low-Pass Filter, or a closing High-Pass Filter (HP).

FAQs
It makes each mode respond to your picking attack. The sensitivity control sets how strongly the dynamic parameter reacts. Hard picking opens up the effect with more modulation, wider filter, brighter shimmer, larger reverb size depending on the mode. Softer playing pulls the effect back. It’s what makes the Cirrus feel different from a conventional delay and reverb pedal.
Clean/Vintage is a tape-style delay where the dynamic parameter controls modulation depth. Filter is a filtered delay where picking attack controls the filter cutoff of the repeats. Reverse is a reverse delay where the dynamic sensitivity controls the speed and intensity of the reverse effect.

Yes — the Cirrus has both delay and reverb sections active simultaneously with independent mix controls for each.
Yes — the expression input is assignable to any parameter on either side of the pedal.
