What is the KMA Endgame?

The KMA Endgame is not an effects pedal as such. It’s designed for the guitarist who is “amp free” – the idea is that it sits at the end of your signal chain, so you can go direct into a desk or DAW or modeller. The phrase is the Engame converts your raw guitar signal into a “stageable, recordable stereo output.”.

To do this it has IR cabinet simulation, power amp simulation, a proprietary stereo doubler, a switchable stereo FX loop, professional XLR outputs, dual headphone outputs, and a Bluetooth aux input, all in a single unit the size of a large stompbox.

Stereo effects have become a central to many players’ rigs, but actually monitoring them properly is hard, so KMA designed it to solve this problem.

Most cab simulators are mono, so your stereo effect upstream of cab sim get collapsed to mono when they hit the output stage. The Endgame fixes that, and some.

What Does The KMA Endgame Actually Do?

The Endgame has four independent functional blocks:

  • Dual IR Cabinet Simulation. An IR with  with three onboard Celection based presets Vintage 30 4×12 high gain, Greenback 4×12 high gain, Creamback 4×12 low gain.  It also has  two user-definable slots for third party IRs. Channel are independent, so you can have different cabs on left and right channels.
  • True Double Tracker. This is KMA’s proprietary doubling algorithm. Not just a simple ADT or delay-based doubler, it replicates the actual differences between two performances – like a recording engineer would when double-tracking guitar  parts and spreading it left and right.
  • Stereo FX Loop. A serial, footwitched  stereo loop  allows you to insert stereo effects into the signal chain with proper stereo send and return.
  • Aux input and monitoring. Use thrTRS input or Bluetooth to stream backing tracks, with a blend control

Outputs are balanced stereo XLR, with a ground lift switch and stereo balanced TRS, both available simultaneously. A  Thru jack outputs your dry input signal in parallel.

The Power Amp Simulator lets you select EL34, 6L6, or KT88 valve characteristics that sits before the cab IR in the signal chain.

An Ambience control adds room simulation after the IR.

Controls and Layout

Front Panel

  • TDT Width: Sets the stereo spread of the doubled signal
  • CAB IR : Select speaker cab type – OFF, V30, GNBK (Greenback), CMBK (Creamback), ,user slot A, or user slot B
  • Aux Mix: Blends an external aux input with main signal
  • Ambience: Sets room simulation level from dry to lush space
  • True Double Tracking:  Positions the FX loop before or after the doubler
  • Dual IR Cabinet Simulation:  Positions the FX loop before or after the cab sim
  • Doubler footswitch: Activates/deactivates the True Double Tracker (FX Loop footswitch: Activates  the Stereo FX Loop
  • Power Amp Mode LED (green = EL34, red = 6L6, orange = KT88, unlit = bypassed)

Internal DIP Switches

  • Switch 1 — AUX BYPASS: ON sends aux to all outputs; OFF sends aux to headphones only
  • Switch 2 — IR/Amp Bypass from TRS: ON sends full signal including IR/amp sim to both XLR and TRS; OFF sends IR/amp sim to XLR only, bypassing TRS outputs

Who Is This For?

The Endgame is for the increasing number pf player who are gigging “ampless”. It provides everything needed to go from pedalboard to PA in stereo, with professional balanced outputs and a proper monitoring solution.

Use it with your amp modeller or preamp. Run your output into the Endgame’s input and use the stereo FX loop for reverbs and delays, and the doubler and professional outputs handle the rest.

Its also great at home . Get superb sounds at practice volumes – and lower! It is also, of course a serious recording tool

FAQs

What does the KMA Endgame actually do?

It’s designed to sit at the end of your signal chain and turn your guitar signal into a professional stereo output for stage or studio. It has dual IR cab simulation, true double tracking stereo doubler, stereo FX loop, tube power amp simulation, room ambience, professional balanced XLR outputs, dual headphone outputs, and a Bluetooth aux input.

Can I use it with my existing amp modeller or cab simulator?

Yes. Just set the CAB IR switch to OFF to bypass the internal IR loader and run your own modeller or cab sim through the input.

What IR files does the Endgame support?

Mono .wav IR files at 44.1, 48, 88.2, or 96kHz sample rates, up to 500ms length. Files are loaded via USB-C drag and drop into the relevant Left and Right folders for the UA and UB user slots.

What is the True Double Tracker and how is it different from a simple doubler?

KMA’s TDT proprietary algorithm simulates the differences between two guitar performances — just the same way a recording engineer double-tracks a guitar part in the studio. Regular doublers just delay one side of the signal and add modulation.

How much power does it need?

A minimum of 480mA at 9V DC, centre-negative.

What’s the V2 firmware and do I need to install it?

V2 adds extended IR sample rate support (44.1, 88.2, and 96kHz) and two new hidden TDT controls — Doubling Timing and Doubling Level. It’s a free update from KMA’s website and there are , available for Mac and Windows versions.

Can I use it for In Ear Monitoring?

Yes — the internal DIP switch 1 can be set so the aux input is sent to the headphone outputs only. This lets you blend your signal with the monitor mix independently at the headphone output.
