Mantic Effects Hulk

The Mantic Hulk is a subharmonic booster with a small footprint.

How low can you go?

Undertones, which are a type of harmonics below your fundamental note to really fatten up your sound.

One small point, we suspect most online demos won’t do this justice as producing sub-bass off of a laptop, is a bit of a big ask!

With a subharmonic generator, you can extend the bottom end in a way that fattens up the sound of sub-bass. You’ll be able to hear the results most clearly if you’re listening to a speaker system with a subwoofer.

Bigger sound, smaller box! The Mantic Effects Hulk is an update on our very popular Density Hulk subharmonic synth, which – gave more than a nod to the 1995 DOD Meatbox and DBX BoomBox.

More cleanly voiced than the Meatbox,  Mantic’s Hulk offers a dry channel too.

Super low-frequency bass is delivered from a small but powerful box, and the max output volume is increased!

Most players use the 30 Hz and 60Hz settings as a set-and-forget, streamlining the controls to save space.

They are still accessible, however, via internal trim pots and the default setting for both is max.

An internal switch allows the footswitch to act as a “kill dry”. This feature is for users who desire to run sub-direct to FOH but don’t want their unaffected signal to pass when the pedal is disengaged.

love the product, the low end is so clear and smooth. Couldn’t be happier.

I like the Mantic Hulk a lot and it’s a fixed part on my pedal board since I received it. I use it among other pedals in an e-guitar setup to emulate the sound of a bass guitar. Works perfectly well for me. I tried lot’s of other pedals like the DOD Meatbox before but prefer the Mantic Hulk. Let me know if you need any other info.

I specifically bought the Hulk pedal to use in developing a new piece of music for live performance.
I wanted a way to send a sub bass signal to a separate PA channel in large venues, or else to a different speaker in smaller settings and in this regard the Hulk is ideal! I have it set using the internal switch so that there is only a feed out in the sections where I’m using the sub effect.

My usage is a little unusual: I perform using contrabasson and electronics to make post classical/soundscape/ambient music.
The electronics are used to augment the acoustic sound and go beyond what’s physically possible on the instrument.

I’ve used it in two peformances now and have just used it in the studio recording for a release later this year and I’m very pleased with it. I can’t wait to play it through a big PA again.
