Mojo Hand FX DMBL
The Mojo hand FX DMBL is our take on what many consider to be the “Holy Grail of overdrive tones.”
Rich in harmonic content with a spongy low end and growling mid-range.
The DMBL’s circuit is fine-tuned with all of the elastic and touch-responsive characteristics that make its inspiration legendary.
Not a super high gain pedal but one that gives your tone a lift for that violin-like smoothness. The tone is articulate and the sustain sweet.
Reports are that it stacks up really well with other overdrive pedals, so use it as a boost or as an “always-on” option.
Dumble – The DMBL’s Inspiration
Alex Dumble is a boutique amplifier manufacturer based in LA. He makes his amplifiers with amazing attention to detail. They are custom-built for each, normally very famous, player.
Given that only Alex makes these amps, there is naturally more demand than supply. And we all know what happens. Used values of Dumble amps can be up to $200k, if you can get them!
Makes the DMBL pedal look like a bargain!
It’s a bit reminiscent of the Klon story. Also, like Klon, there is an element of secrecy regarding the exact circuit design. He covers the pre-amp circuitry in black epoxy. He started modifying Fender amps, similar to how Mesa Boogie got started.
