Weehbo Plexface
The Weehbo Plexface is a vintage dual overdrive that combines four eras of music history in one box. It features two independent channels, Plexi and Face.
We shoudl explain that the Plexi side is British Marshall style and Face is classic American B.F / Tweed style
Video demos of the Plexface here.
‘Face
The Face channel is a faithful reconstruction of a well-known mid-60’s amplifier, with field-effect transistors FETs instead of tubes.
The Volume knob does control the volume level of course, and the overall gain and saturation. Turning up the Volume knob will give you the light tube saturation this amp is famous for.
Further, you can choose between two distinctive sounds: ‘Face(’65) or Tweed (’57), the Tweed mode is a bit hotter sounding.
Plexi
The PLEXI channel is modeled after the legendary 1959 Plexi model with 100 watts of power, which got very popular among various artists. You can choose between JTM (’59) and JMP (’87) mode.
It’s possible to activate both channels, the signal path is Plexi into ‘Face
DYNAMIC switch:
The DYNAMIC switch features an electronic circuit that doubles the supply voltage to 18 volts internally.
A higher supply voltage results in more headroom, clarity, and greater dynamic response. Set the switch to the right to increase headroom and dynamic.
Power:
You have to insert a standard 9 volt DC power adaptor (2.1mm with negative tip} into the dc jack to power up the pedal. Alternatively, you can unscrew the bottom plate and access a 9 volt
battery. Note that a connector has to be plugged into the INPUT jack to power the pedal in battery mode.
This unit runs off 9 volt DC only, do NOT use adaptors with higher voltages or alternating current (AC).
True bypass:
The ‘Face and Plexi footswitches operate as a true bypass to guarantee best signal quality when the unit is in bypass mode.
The Plexface uses a 100% pure analogue circuit for the audio path. right position = OVERVIEW increased headroom
